Job description
The Bid manager is responsible for bidding and tendering on behalf of our sales divisions (public sector, education, housing, and charity) to customers’ current and planned business and technical requirements.
They will organise and coordinate bid production, content capture, and commercial modelling into compelling bids and proposals to drive business acquisition and retention.
The successful candidate is required to take an agile approach to tailor the content to meet the audience’s requirements and be confident in representing the respective Phoenix solutions technology vision for the customer.
They must have an excellent knowledge of respective vendor options (Microsoft, Dell, Vmware etc), and technologies, including cloud, migration and upgrade strategies, and support options.
Key responsibilities
* Managing the written and editorial aspects of the bid and proposal development process
* Communicating requirements, deadlines, and expectations to key stakeholders and the bid/proposal team
* Maintaining the bid library, bid tracker, author content, and editing text produced by other members of the team
* Re-write or edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from technical, sales, marketing, finance, commercial, legal, and operations
* Checking drafts for readability, clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and formatting
* Producing high-quality documents and ensuring completed bids/proposals meet the bid specification
* Maintaining the bid library, bid tracker, content
* Conducting bid analysis following completion of submissions to drive improvements
* Sound commercial understanding, P&L, and risk management skills
* Manage complex, multi-workstream opportunities. Solid understanding and management of internal governance procedures
* For complex bids, support the operational and sales teams with the implementation of new agreements
