Trainee SEND Support Assistant – Sunderland/Peterlee
Pay: £89 to £110 per day

Curious about working in an autism specialist school but not sure where to start? This trainee role is a brilliant way in.
You’ll be supported from day one, learn from experienced staff and slowly build your skills in communication strategies, sensory support and positive behaviour approaches. No SEND background needed, just patience, warmth and a willingness to learn.
Your role will include:
• Helping pupils with communication and routines
• Using visuals, symbols and structured tasks
• Supporting sensory breaks
• Bringing calm, reassurance and consistency
What you need:
• A caring, grounded approach
• Willingness to take on training and feedback
• An interest in SEND or education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
