Great opportunity to join a niche company in a crucial role, testing a variety of parts and components for customers in industries such as Defence and Oil and Gas. Also setting and operating CNC machinery.
The Role:
Mechanical Testing of machinery.
Working in a Team of 4 Test Technicians - 1 is retiring in August, hence the vacancy.
In Lehman's terms, they measure stresses in engineering components.
Typical parts they test are; Landing gears, oil and gas pipe lines, Nuclear components.
Work with prestigious clients such as; Rolls Royce, EDF and Airbus.
Stress testing - drilling holes through components essentially and recording results accurately.
Setting and Operating CNC machinery.
Sending test results/data through to the engineers upstairs.
90% in Bristol - 10% 2/3 weeks anywhere in world at client sites testing their parts and components if too big to be brought to Bristol - typically once a year.
The Candidate:
Level 3 Advanced engineering apprenticeship OR Toolmaking qualification.
Experience operating Forklifts - desirable.
Experience of structural materials testing - desirable.
Programming and use of CNC machines.
Effectively communicate with persons whose first language may not be English.
