Lecturer in Adult Nursing (Practice Support)

Department: Department of Adult Nursing • Location: City South Campus • Salary: £44,131 to £51,182 per annum • Post Type: Full Time • Release Date: 10 December 2025 • Closing Date: 19 December 2025 (23:59 GMT) • Reference: NM25006

We are seeking an NMC Registered Adult Nurse to provide crucial practice support for our nursing students. As a lecturer in adult nursing, you will be responsible for supporting the coordination and enhancement of practice-based learning experiences for adult nursing students, ensuring they are effectively allocated to placements and supported to meet NMC professional standards and proficiencies.


Key Responsibilities

* Student & Partner Support: Act as the main contact for practice partners and students regarding placement queries, concerns, and ePAD/governance issues (e.g., Fitness to Practise).
* Quality Assurance: Collaborate with partners to ensure teaching, supervision, and assessment practices meet NMC and institutional quality standards, monitoring practice learning hours and participating in key workstreams (e.g., LEAF, SSSA compliance).
* Practice Coordination: Liaise with NHS Trusts and private/voluntary sector partners to secure and expand practice placements.
* Training: Facilitate and support the delivery of Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment (SSSA) training for practice partners and academic assessors.
* Wider Teaching: Opportunity to contribute to core curriculum module delivery, including evidence-based teaching, clinical skills instruction, academic assessing, and pastoral / personal academic tutoring.


Essential Criteria

* Current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration in Adult Nursing.
* Educated to Degree level in a clinically relevant subject area.
* Experience of delivering teaching/training in healthcare.
* Experience of supporting adult nursing students/apprentices in practice.


Desirable Criteria

* Teaching, assessing, and/or education qualification (e.g., NMC Teacher Status or HEA Fellow status).
* Relevant Master’s or PhD.
* Previous Higher Education teaching experience.
