Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on various types of buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities
* Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and roofing plans to ensure accurate installation and repairs.
* Install new roofing systems using appropriate materials and techniques, including the utilisation of hand tools and power tools.
* Repair or replace damaged roofing components, ensuring weatherproofing and durability.
* Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required for specialised roofing applications.
* Utilise carpentry skills for framing, support structures, or other related tasks.
* Conduct heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
* Assist with plumbing or masonry work related to roofing projects when necessary.
* Follow safety guidelines strictly to prevent accidents or injuries on site.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are stored correctly after use.
Experience
* Proven experience in roofing installation, repair, or maintenance is essential.
* Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans is highly desirable.
* Skills in welding, fabrication, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and the use of hand tools and power tools are advantageous.
* Experience working with various roofing materials such as asphalt shingles, metal sheets, membranes, or tiles is preferred.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday.
