Are you a compassionate and skilled educator We’re looking for a dedicated Tutor for Looked After Children (LAC) to join our team in North Yorkshire. About the Role: As a LAC Maths Tutor, you will work one-to-one with children and young people in care, helping them build confidence and improve their understanding of maths. Many of these students face unique challenges, so a patient, adaptable, and trauma-informed approach is essential. Your support will contribute to both academic success and personal development. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver tailored maths sessions aligned with individual learning needs Work closely with carers, social workers, and virtual school staff to track progress Create a safe, consistent, and encouraging learning environment Provide regular feedback and reports on student progress Requirements: Strong academic background in Mathematics (Degree or equivalent) Experience working with vulnerable children or in a similar pastoral/educational role Excellent communication and empathy skills Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) Understanding of the challenges faced by Looked After Children Desirable: Teaching qualification or QTS Familiarity with the UK curriculum (KS2–KS4) Experience with EHCPs, SEN, or trauma-informed education Ability to deliver sessions in person and/or online Why Join Us?
