Digital Account Manager
We are delighted to be working with an award winning agency, who are looking for a highly organised, motivated and self-directed Account Manager.
The role:
This role will involve the planning, implementing and reviewing of digital communications activity for a range of clients, including among others website, advertising, content, search, social, email and apps. This role will also involve support into new business development opportunities and helping to push the digital agenda for the agency.
You will work alongside the lead Account Director and have the ability to work closely with clients, at all levels, in order to build relationships based on respect and trust.
What this role requires:
4. Capable of going beyond the client’s brief to provide a holistic thinking to digital problems.
5. Coordinating successful strategies across digital marketing channels and working with wider agency team (including offline and online departments).
6. Liaison with the Media Department to develop digital media briefs including identifying key insights from background information and research findings.
7. Liaison with Creative Studio to brief, co-ordinate and roll-out creative production requirements.
8. Excellent project management skills, planning ahead, prioritising, scheduling and administrating projects (including technical specification are being adhered to) across the portfolio of accounts in an effective manner.
9. Ability to cost out projects and manage client budgets, maximising revenue streams from each account for the Agency.
10. Ensure that customer reporting utilising the right metrics, delivers robust insight, includes clear actions and relates clearly to achievement against agreed objectives.
11. Creative sensitivity and ability to judge creative work and give constructive feedback.
12. Ability to build relationships and manage effective internal teams.
13. Ability to build relationships with digital suppliers and partner agencies, where appropriate.
14. Ability to work on your own initiative and also as part of a team.
15. Excellent listening skills with the ability to ask the right questions to identify the key communication issues.
16. Excellent writing skills with the ability to create reports, briefing documents and presentations.
17. Excellent verbal skills with the ability to both brief individuals and make presentations to client teams in a clear, persuasive manner.
18. Excellent understanding of the digital media platforms (in particular SEO, PPC, Display, Social, Email, Content), the current landscape and future trends.
19. Good understanding of web design development process including UX, scoping, project management frameworks, user testing and research.
20. Good understanding of Google Analytics and other analytical platforms and how to pick the most relevant / important information for intelligent strategic development.
21. Good understanding of digital production processes and keep up to date with new developments.
22. Ability to keep up to date with the industry trends (networking, researching, reading blogs, and other news / information sources) to identify and share best practice across all disciplines.
Necessary qualities:
• 3rd level qualification.
• Minimum of 4 years digital experience, ideally within an agency setting, with at least 2 years’ experience at a more senior level.
• Excellent digital knowledge across a wide range of channels with a desire to continual professional development.
• Strong knowledge of websites including understanding of user journeys, UX, wireframes etc.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interrogate data, determine trends and consider the ‘so what’s’ from campaign data to provide recommendations for refinement/ improvement.
• Ability to think strategically and of the bigger digital picture, not just on a project by project basis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be passionate about delivering good work, open to new ideas and prepared to challenge constructively.
• Strong initiative with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills (open, friendly, and supportive attitude).
• Strong problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to independently analyse alternative solutions and prioritise quickly within tight deadlines.
• Keen attention to detail (including ability to proof/edit grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc) with strong organisational and administration skills.
• Appreciation for the creative process and skilled at working with creative teams.
• Knowledge of best practice in relation to creative outputs across digital channels.
• A tough but fair negotiator; being able to think coolly in stressful situations; dealing professionally and objectively with both colleagues, clients and suppliers.
• Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines with occasional long hours.
• Ability to give and take constructive criticism.
• Understanding of the role of marketing communications within a broader business context to ensure the agency role is communications partner rather than supplier.
Financial accountability:
• Source and evaluate competitive quotes for 3rd party digital services and in adherence with any client procurement protocols or guidelines.
• Accurately estimate the agency time and 3rd party costs required to complete a job and work within these parameters.
• Ensure budgets are submitted to client and approved for all work.
• Flag potential budget spend / overspend to Account Management and clients and manage this through.
• Accurately track and record hours.
• Review Gross Margin allocated to digital projects for assigned clients.
3rd Party Suppliers:
• Ability to write and / or input into concise briefs for digital suppliers.
• Management and relationship building with digital suppliers/partners.
• Ensure 3rd party digital suppliers deliver a top quality product for the agency.
Working relationships:
• Reports to Senior Account Director / Account Director.
• Works in conjunction with the wider Account Management team.
• Teams with Creative, Media and Production teams.
• Manages Digital Strategic and Implementation suppliers (Note: will not manage Digital Creative resources – this is managed through Creative Production).
Other requirements:
• Knowledge of project management practices.
• Experience in working with an agency management system / software.
• Be able to proactively manage and handle regulatory bodies.
• Be involved in new business opportunities when they arise.
• Manage day-to-day administration: minutes, status reports, monthly report, timely billing etc
• Adhere to agency processes e.g. CPD, ISO & job bags
• Strong knowledge of using PC/Mac and experience of the following programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Knowledge of rich media assets (e.g. Motion Graphics & animations, HTML5 display, GIFs); Knowledge of DoubleClick Campaign Manager or similar digital delivery systems. Experience of working in Google Data Studio to develop reports.
*Be prepared to travel, should the need arise.
