Our national digital, tech and data team is growing. Representing an impressive range of FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 clients, public sector organisations, educational institutions, and industry bodies, on high-profile, business-critical projects and regulatory matters, the team plays a vital role in helping clients build growth and success. The team also works alongside our US colleagues on international transactions and projects, collaborating with other member firms across the world to assist clients in the UK and internationally.
We are looking for a lawyer with 3+ to senior PQE to join the team.
What does the team do?
We advise on complex technology transactions, digital transformation, data protection, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies such as generative AI. You will work with developers and suppliers of new products and services, collaborating closely with our commercial and sector teams to help businesses adopt digital technologies to enhance productivity and competitiveness across various industries including manufacturing, energy, transport, logistics, and international trade.
Your role involves advising on contractual, regulatory, and risk management aspects of transactions and projects. It's a dynamic environment with continuous learning and collaboration among diverse professionals who support each other and embrace creativity.
The role offers opportunities to work on multi-jurisdictional projects, helping businesses expand into new markets like the USA and Saudi Arabia, and includes potential international secondments.
What does the ideal candidate look like?
We seek a lawyer with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience in digital, tech, or data protection, gained at a City or large regional firm or in-house. Essential skills include excellent drafting and communication, enthusiasm for the practice area, and a commitment to delivering top-quality client service.
Minimum requirements:
* At least 4 years of post-qualified experience in digital technology as a UK solicitor (England, Wales, or Scotland).
* Experience in a commercial environment focusing on digital/tech and/or data protection, from a reputable firm or in-house role.
* Expertise in complex transactions including digital transformation, software licensing, IT services, data protection, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies like generative AI.
* Ability to analyze contracts, identify key issues, and advise on best approaches.
