Overview
This is a new and exciting opportunity to be part of our Step into Wellness and Stronger Together Programmes, making a real difference to people’s lives across the county. We are seeking someone with experience in coaching people in a group setting, supporting them to improve their health and wellbeing. We welcome applications from people who are excellent communicators with great interpersonal skills, confident, well organised, and computer literate with good IT skills. You will have an understanding of the issues affecting people’s lives and the skills to devise appropriate strategies to engage vulnerable or disadvantaged people in advice and support services.
Responsibilities
* Support the planning, delivery, reporting and evaluation of Step into Wellness and Stronger Together Programmes to ensure participants are supported and enabled to access the programmes as fully as possible.
* Be a key point of contact for individuals, volunteers and the programme team; understand where and when to connect to other services whilst continuing to provide support and encouragement.
* Help people understand and identify their personalised goals and support them to achieve these, improving their self-esteem and health and wellbeing.
* Work in a person-centred, holistic and creative approach with a clear focus on What Matters to You.
* Collaborate to ensure the programmes meet their aims and outcomes:
o Enhance the quality of life for people with health and well-being needs.
o Enable individuals to lead as independent and fulfilling lives as possible.
o Support increased ability to self-manage health and well-being; improve self-esteem, confidence and sense of belonging to the community.
Qualifications / Experience
* Experience coaching people in a group setting to improve health and wellbeing.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident, well organised, and IT literate.
* Understanding of issues affecting people’s lives; ability to engage vulnerable or disadvantaged people in advice and support services.
* Ability to travel across Cornwall; driving licence and access to a car essential (business use insurance required). Mileage expenses are claimable.
Details
* Hours of Work: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexible working arrangements will be considered.
* Salary: £24,887 per annum
* Place of Work: Hybrid role, peripatetic, based in Boscawen House, TR1 3BN; working from home and within the community, offering programmes in various community locations across Cornwall.
* Duration: Fixed term until 31st March 2028
* DBS: Enhanced DBS check
* Benefits: 30 days (including bank holidays) pro rata plus 3 extra days for first year; other benefits listed in original description.
