Data Scientist
We are seeking a highly analytical and innovative Data Scientist to leverage data to drive strategic decision-making and business performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing predictive models, extracting insights from complex datasets, and translating findings into actionable recommendations. This role requires strong statistical knowledge, machine learning expertise, and the ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
* Data Analysis & Insight Generation
o Analyse large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
o Develop data-driven insights to support business strategy and operational improvements.
o Present findings clearly to stakeholders using visualisations and reports.
* Machine Learning & Modelling
o Design, build and validate predictive and prescriptive models.
o Apply statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to solve business problems.
o Optimise model performance and ensure scalability in production environments.
* Data Preparation & Exploration
o Clean, preprocess and transform structured and unstructured data.
o Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify key drivers and relationships.
o Collaborate with data engineers to ensure high-quality data pipelines.
* Collaboration & Business Engagement
o Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, Finance, Operations, Marketing).
o Translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
o Support decision-making through scenario modelling and forecasting.
* Governance & Ethics
o Ensure models are explainable, transparent and aligned with ethical AI principles.
o Support compliance with regulatory and data privacy requirements.
o Maintain documentation of methodologies and assumptions.
Qualifications
* Technical Skills
o Strong proficiency in Python and/or R.
o Advanced SQL skills.
o Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
o Strong knowledge of statistics, probability and hypothesis testing.
o Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, matplotlib, seaborn).
o Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous.
* Analytical Expertise
o Experience with regression, classification, clustering and time series analysis.
o Model evaluation and validation techniques.
o A/B testing and experimentation frameworks.

o Python (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
o R (optional but desirable)
o SQL
o Jupyter Notebooks
o Git
o Power BI / Tableau
o MLflow (desirable)
