Senior Technical Recruiter
Hybrid in London, United Kingdom
We’re looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter.
You’ll hire exceptional people and help build effective tech teams that solve real business problems. You’ll advise hiring managers, shape decision-making with data, and collaborate with leadership on our tech hiring strategy.
The company
Imagine a world where every small business has the power to thrive. That's the world we're building at iwoca. Small businesses aren't just statistics – they're the heartbeat of our communities, the character of our high streets, and the engine of our economy. Since 2012, we've revolutionised how these businesses access finance, turning what was once a lengthy, frustrating process into something remarkable: funding that's fast, flexible, and actually works for modern businesses.
Our impact speaks for itself: we've provided billions in funding to more than 150,000 businesses across Europe, making us one of the continent's leading fintech innovators. But we're just getting started. Our mission? To empower one million businesses with the financial tools they deserve.
We combine cutting-edge technology and data science with genuine human understanding to make finance feel less like a barrier and more like a superpower. Whether a business is managing cash flow or seizing unexpected opportunities, we ensure they get the funds they need – often within minutes.
The team
The Tech Talent team hires for iwoca’s Tech, Analytics, and Product (TAP) functions. Our work directly impacts the teams who build our products, systems, and customer experience. We focus on high-calibre talent - people who raise the bar and improve the teams they join - supported by data and structure to enable objective and measured hiring decisions.
We care about doing recruitment well. We share knowledge, collaborate, and challenge each other's thinking to raise standards. We use Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, Welcome to the Jungle, and Cord. And we experiment with new tools and workflows to scale our impact and keep our skills sharp.
The role
As the Senior Technical Recruiter, you'll focus on thoughtful and evidence-based technical recruitment across engineering, product, and data. You'll run processes end to end, from understanding team needs through to assessment, selection, and offer, using data and candidate evidence to guide decisions.
You'll decide when to use our tried and tested approaches, and when a situation calls for a different method or a step-change in how we work. You'll partner with senior stakeholders, build trust, share insights and guide your colleagues to make the right call.
The requirements
Essential:
* 8+ years' experience recruiting engineers and other technical roles in product-led environments, with ability to assess capability and impact accurately.
* Ability to recognise high-calibre, relevant profiles and separate signal from noise through disciplined evaluation based on context, outcomes, and applied skills.
* Ability to run several processes end-to-end with clarity, pace, and accuracy, managing pipelines and documentation through an Applicant Tracking System (ideally Ashby).
* Proficiency with recruitment tools and data, using spreadsheets, formulas, and ATS dashboards to track performance, identify patterns, and provide insights.
* Experience partnering with senior stakeholders, providing clear insight and recommendations that build trust.
* Clear written and verbal communication, with concise, well-structured writing that provides clarity for candidates and stakeholders.
Bonus:
* Experience hiring data scientists working on applied machine learning for real product use cases, especially those using probabilistic models for decisioning.
* Experience hiring backend engineers working in data-heavy, API-driven environments with technologies such as Python, Django, Rust, or Golang, and relational databases.
* Experience hiring product or strategy roles in tech-led companies where context, analytical thinking, and business impact are central to success.
The salary
We expect to pay from £70,000 to £90,000 for this role. But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.
