Deputy Manager – Towy Castle Care Home
Location: Carmarthen, South Wales
Salary: £33,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, plus flexibility for evenings, weekends & on-call)

We’re looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join the team at Towy Castle Care Home. This is a key leadership role, supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home and stepping up in their absence.
You’ll play an important part in ensuring high standards of care, staff support, and smooth operations in a busy, caring environment.
About Towy Castle
Towy Castle is a 61-bed residential care home, set within three acres of landscaped gardens overlooking the Towy estuary. We provide high-quality care for older adults, including those living with dementia, and are known for our long-standing, supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in the daily running of the home
Assume responsibility in the Manager’s absence
Provide leadership, supervision, and appraisals to staff
Undertake audits, quality checks, and ensure CIW compliance
Oversee care plans and risk assessments, ensuring they are person-centred
Assist with recruitment, induction, and training of staff
Liaise with families, professionals, and external agencies
Manage rotas and ensure adequate staffing levels
Be part of the on-call rota and provide cover where needed
What We’re Looking For
Registered with Social Care Wales (SCW)
QCF Level 4 Health & Social Care (minimum)
At least 2 years’ leadership or management experience in a care setting
Strong understanding of CIW standards and dementia care
Confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and on-call as required
