Senior Agile Delivery Manager – 12 months Rate: £600 per day (Umbrella) Working pattern / location: On-site / hybrid with minimum 60% attendance at one of the following offices: Newcastle, Leeds, or Birmingham. Overview Our client is looking for a Senior Agile Delivery Manager who is a hands-on technical delivery leader, responsible for the day-to-day delivery of software in a modern engineering environment. This role requires recent, applied experience leading software development teams — not just statements of capability. What you’ll be doing: Agile delivery (hands-on) Acting as Scrum Master / Delivery Manager for a software engineering team day-to-day Leading sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives Removing blockers and actively managing scope, flow, and prioritisation Maintaining delivery momentum across sustained, active build work Software delivery & technical engagement Working directly with developers, testers, and DevOps engineers Managing delivery within modern software engineering lifecycles Confidently engaging in technical discussions and trade-offs Supporting delivery across complex technical concerns (e.g., resilience, security, recoverability) Stakeholder influence & reporting Influencing and challenging senior technical and non-technical stakeholders Producing clear, evidence-based delivery reporting Building trust through transparency and consistent delivery performance Planning, coordination & governance Refining prioritised backlogs with Product Managers and technical leads Proactively managing risks, issues, and cross-team dependencies Using Jira for planning, tracking, and reporting (team and initiative level) Completing delivery governance / change activity (e.g., ServiceNow ) Essential skills & experience: Recent, hands-on agile delivery experience with software development teams Operating as a Scrum Master / Delivery Manager in active software build Experience working in modern engineering environments, including: Version control (e.g., Git ) CI/CD pipelines Cloud-native and/or platform-based services Strong senior stakeholder engagement and influencing skills Practical experience managing delivery risks, dependencies, and complex backlogs High proficiency in Jira (team and programme level) SFIA Level 6 capability evidenced through applied experience (not just job titles) Important note: Experience limited only to cloud migration programmes, CRM implementations (e.g., Dynamics), systems integration, or database-only delivery will not be sufficient unless you can clearly demonstrate recent hands-on software product delivery.
