The Digital Design Engineer Group Manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.
Responsibilities:
1. Drive and support product vision from concept to production
2. Proactively understand and incorporate customer learnings to know when to enhance or sunset existing products
3. Provide cross-organizational and cross-disciplinary solutions across the company
4. Use creative process and design thinking to improve products
5. Support business stakeholders to create or improve marketing campaign strategies and their effectiveness
6. Launch, manage and optimize digital feature enhancements across all channels, and closely monitor, measure, and report on feature performance
7. Provide thought leadership through hard-hitting, high quality data analysis and research
8. Evaluate new product concepts for viability and present them to senior stakeholders for approval
9. Convert ideas into basic wireframes to provide direction to UX and UI Designers
10. Be able to listen well, effectively negotiate, and diplomatically manage conflicting points of view, as well as influence others in an organization to ensure alignment and progress
11. Train stakeholders on new products and interfaces, including new features and customer experience.
12. Be able to work with and manage outside vendors and agencies, and own stewardship of their work and deliverables
13. Propose and identify ground-breaking solutions that can be executed once approved by stakeholders
14. Demonstrates ability to attract senior talent
15. Facilitates understanding of broader organizational tenets and strategic goals for department
16. Recognizes trends for larger-scale development needs within and across teams and builds plans to develop skills
17. Shares talent development best practices across organization
18. Audits department goals to ensure alignment with broader organizational goals; is accountable for department performance against goals
19. Sets high performance standards for department
20. Plans and advocates for department resources
21. Develops and communicates department vision that supports the broader organizational vision
22. Ensures team culture consistently demonstrates alignment with leadership principles; visibly ties department decisions to leadership principles and tenets
23. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
24. Significant Years experience in software development specifically Figma
25. Strong analytical and quantitative skills; Data driven and results-oriented
26. Experience in running high traffic, distributed, cloud based services
27. Experience in affecting large culture change
28. Experience leading infrastructure programs
29. Skilled at working with third party service providers
30. Excellent written and oral communication skills
Education:
31. Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
