Teaching Assistant, The Arch Cognition and Learning Hub at Unity Schools Partnership – Castle Manor Academy. Contract: Part-time, Permanent - 35 hours per week / 38 weeks per year.
Salary: Grade 3, SP 7-10 (FTE: £25,583 - £27,269 / Actual: £20,235 - £21,568 per annum)
Start date: November 2025
Castle Manor Academy is seeking to appoint a committed Teaching Assistant to support learning across Years 7 to 11, both in the classroom, and in small group interventions within our specialist Cognition and Learning Hub The Arch. Applicants would be required to have achieved at least a C grade in GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent, and have previous experience of working with children with additional needs, ideally in a secondary school setting. Applicants will need to be able to work effectively as part of a team, enjoy working with children, and, at all times, demonstrate our PROUD values: Professional, Resilient, Optimistic, Understanding and Driven.
Responsibilities
* Support learning across Years 7 to 11, both in the classroom and in small group interventions within The Arch Cognition and Learning Hub.
* Assist in managing learning environments and supporting pupils with additional needs, ideally in a secondary school setting.
* Collaborate with teachers and the specialist team to implement appropriate strategies and interventions.
* Support pupils to achieve their targets and foster a positive attitude to learning in line with the PROUD values.
Qualifications
* GCSE Maths and English at grade C or equivalent.
* Experience of working with children with additional needs, ideally in a secondary school setting.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team; good communication skills; commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.

This role can be an excellent platform to gain experience prior to teacher training or to gain experience for specialist roles as well as develop within the role. We are located 20 miles from Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds.
