The school is an innovative new SEN setting, dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children with diverse learning needs. Our client is excited to expand their mission with the opening of their first independent SEN & SEMH specialist schools (ages 11–16), offering an alternative curriculum to young people with a range of SEMH special educational needs. As Deputy Headteacher with SENCo responsibility, you will play a key role supporting the Headteacher with the management and organisation across the academy, striving to achieve the highest quality education and pupil achievement. You will deputise in the absence of the Headteacher, acting as "Person in Charge" by managing daily operations when necessary. Significant experience in leadership and management within a specialist setting is essential. Strong knowledge of the Code of Practice is required, with the ability to implement systems and processes that ensure statutory requirements are met. A passion for SEND education and a commitment to ensuring that all pupils receive the best possible education are key. Qualifications and Experience: * A committed and passionate approach to working with students with SEND. * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a SENCo qualification. * Ability to support and lead the provision of SEND learning support across the whole school. * Excellent knowledge of all relevant SEND legislation. * Relevant qualifications to act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. * A minimum of two years’ experience working in a SEND environment or similar provision. * Significant leadership experience within a SEN setting or mainstream school committed to inclusive education. * Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with SEND and effective strategies to address these. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. * A commitment to continuous professional development and improvement.
