M&M Contractors, a leading Belfast-based firm, is seeking an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to join their senior management team. Renowned for delivering high-quality solutions to a blue-chip client base across Utilities (Power/Tels), Civil Engineering, and Infrastructure, M&M has built its reputation on customer focus, technical excellence, and long-standing industry expertise.
In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee electrical projects for major clients, includingmercial installations and EV infrastructure across Northern Ireland. You’ll be responsible for pricing, managing contracts, and leading a small team of electricians and operatives – with scope to grow and shape the team as the business continues to expand.
This role demands strongmercial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, drive profitability, and maintain high standards of delivery across multiple projects. You’ll be expected to make strategic decisions that support both operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
Your new role
This is a key leadership position where you’ll oversee electrical projects for major clients, includingmercial installations and EV infrastructure across Northern Ireland. You’ll be responsible for pricing, managing contracts, and leading a small team of electricians and operatives, with scope to grow and shape the team as the business continues to expand.
1. Take full ownership of electrical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
2. Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring all financial targets are met.
3. Liaise with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to define project requirements, including ESB and NIE.
4. Oversee procurement of materials, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.
5. Monitor and track project progress, addressing any challenges or deviations.
6. Technical Oversight &pliance
7. Review and approve electrical designs, ensuring adherence to regulations and industry standards.
8. Conduct site inspections to monitor quality control, safetypliance, and progress.
9. Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
10. Ensurepliance with the National Electrical Code across NI (NICEIC) and ROI (Safe Electric), and health & safety standards.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will bring strongmercial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, drive profitability, and make strategic decisions that support both operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
Key Requirements:
11. NVQ/C&G Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
12. Minimum 5 years’ contract/project management experience within the electrical industry
13. Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Excel
14. Proven ability to lead and manage teams
