An opportunity has arisen to join our Finance team based in Assynt House as a Management Accounting Assistant. The post holder should be either studying towards, or already possess an accounting qualification such as HNC, HND, AAT; or have a minimum of two years experience in NHS Finance. The post holder will be required to demonstrate knowledge of the accruals / prepayments concept, understanding of budgets, and variance analysis. The post holder will support Divisional Accountant with the provision of comprehensive and accurate financial management support for the West.
The post holder is required to have ownership for the accuracy of the financial ledger. The post holder will ensure that financial information is processed in accordance with recognised procedures providing information for monthly reporting and monitoring within reporting deadlines. The post holder will investigate financial enquiries of varying complexity, and will provide accurate information, support and advice where required.
This post requires knowledge and experience of a Financial Management System, i.e. eFinancials; Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel and Word; and an understanding of other software such as Business Objects. The post holder will be required to regularly use excel spreadsheets standard to the department and be required to design and produce their own unique spreadsheets. These may be shared with other staff and so must be logical and concise. The post holder will be required to provide training and share knowledge and experience on an on-going basis with new and existing colleagues.
