Location: Newmarket (Cambridgeshire)
This is a full‑time role, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only.
Your role will include:
* Monitoring and recording daily attendance and punctuality of students
* Following up on absences and lateness with parents/carers and ensuring all reasons for absences are documented
* Working closely with the senior leadership team to address attendance issues and develop strategies to improve attendance rates
* Producing regular attendance reports for staff, governors and the local authority
* Liaising with external agencies, such as education welfare officers, to support students with persistent attendance issues
* Maintaining accurate attendance records in accordance with school policies and legal requirements
Who we’re looking for:
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with parents, students and staff
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Proficiency in using attendance management systems and Microsoft Office software
* A proactive and flexible approach to problem‑solving
* Experience in a similar role or within an educational setting is desirable but not essential
* Eligibility to work in the UK is essential
* Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to complete a new DBS
* Relevant professional experience with 2 recent professional references
