We are looking for an experienced Materials & Welding Engineer to join our team for a major subsea project within the Oil and Gas sector. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile, technically complex programme and work alongside a skilled, multidisciplinary team.
About the Role:
You will provide specialist expertise in materials selection, welding engineering and qualification activities, with a strong focus on subsea systems and components. Your input will be vital in ensuring technical integrity and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the SPS Technical Lead on all welding, materials, and metallurgy-related matters.
* Assist the SPS Package Lead during the execution phase, ensuring technical consistency and high-quality delivery.
* Take responsibility for all welding and material issues within the SPS scope of supply.
* Ensure full compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and HSE rules.
* Work closely with Company Site Representatives and Third-Party Inspectors to review welding and material aspects of design and fabrication activities.
* Contribute to risk assessments, technical reviews, and resolution of fabrication or materials-related challenges.
What We’re Looking For:
* Strong background in welding engineering, including WPS/PQR development, subsea welding processes, metallurgy, and CRA/dissimilar welds.
* Solid materials engineering expertise with subsea material selection, corrosion mechanisms, and mitigation strategies.
* Good knowledge of key industry codes and standards (API, DNV, ASME, ISO, NACE).
* Familiarity with NDT methods and inspection oversight, including review of ITPs and coordination with third-party inspectors.
* Experience supporting fabrication activities, resolving welding/materials issues, and assisting with FAT/SIT activities.
