The Role
As Operations Director, you will oversee all operational activity across the organisation, ensuring delivery is consistent, compliant, and of the highest quality. You will report directly to the Managing Director and play a key role in the Senior Leadership Team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Leadership & People Development

Lead and inspire the Heads of Assessment Delivery, Quality, Assessment Development, and Client Services
*
Drive collaboration, performance, and professional growth across your teams
*
Implement robust succession planning and leadership development strategies
Operational Excellence
*
Ensure assessment delivery meets KPIs, service levels, and compliance standards
*
Oversee capacity planning, forecasting, and budget control
*
Manage relationships with system and technology providers to enhance delivery
*
Lead the launch of new assessment centres and facilities
Strategic Growth
*
Identify and capitalise on opportunities to grow market share and expand provision
*
Represent the organisation at national industry forums and events
*
Ensure readiness for regulatory changes and sector developments
Governance & Collaboration
*
Work closely with the Head of Regulation to maintain compliance with Ofqual and other bodies
*
Collaborate with Finance, Marketing, and Commercial teams to align operations with wider business objectives
*
Act as the operational voice at board level, contributing to group-wide initiatives
About You
We’re looking for a commercially astute, operationally driven leader who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments.
You will bring:

Senior leadership experience in an EPAO or Awarding Organisation
*
Proven ability to manage multi-functional teams at scale
*
A track record of delivering against strategic and operational goals
*
A Level 6+ Leadership or Senior Management qualification
*
Understanding of the Construction sector (desirable)
You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, building strong relationships internally and externally while driving operational excellence.
