Job Description
THE ROLE
We have an excitingopportunity for a Container FFA Broker to be part of our expanding desk. Thisis a mid-level role for a dynamic and motivated individual who has apassion for the financial markets. You will be personable, tenacious and anatural networker, having a proactive approach to generating leads and securingnew business.In addition, you will behighly motivated, analytical and thrive in a fast-moving environment.Ideal candidates will demonstrate a proventrack record as a broker in a related market.
Requirements
Key responsibilities:
• Promote FIS as a company, providing marketintelligence and analysis to clients
• Educating clients in respect of derivatives andhedging risk
• Arrange trades via voice broking on and behalfof clients
• Manage Profit and Loss of the desk
• Create liquidity and price discovery withentities such as exchanges, MTF’s, SI’s, clearers, prime brokers, prop traders
• Maintain and create relationships with otherbrokers when there is no liquidity from Liquidity Providers
• Maintain and enhance existing clientrelationships, making regular contact and tracking daily trading activities
• Proactively solicit feedback from industryparticipants via trade calls, surveys, industry events, trade shows andconferences
• Identify and seize new business opportunitiesrelating to trends, future markets, products and clients
• Set and develop plans and strategy for desk
• Produce a daily/weekly update of market prices,market direction for international desks
• On-board new clients following correct Complianceand Operations procedures
• Regularly assess client needs and financialconditions to identify internal cross-selling opportunities
• Perform any other reasonable duties the companymay require
Risk relatedresponsibilities
• Understand regulation within the evolvingregulatory landscape
• Support a risk and compliance aware culture andcomply with all FIS company policies and handbooks
• Exercise judgement and act with integrity, due care,skill and diligence and open and co-operative with the FCA, other regulatorsand exchanges
• Ensure full awareness of and adhere to internalpolicies that relate to the role or any relevant other activities
• Observe standards of market conduct and ensureunderstanding and adherence to all regulatory, exchange or clearing houserequirements applicable to role
• Possess excellent knowledge of Container FFA productsand markets; sound knowledge of derivatives as well as underlying markets andtechnical aspects of broking
• Financial or Bank Sales experience - preferable
• Provide leadership to team; coach, motivate anddevelop team members to maximise their potential
• Willingness to study and pass CISI Regulations,Derivatives and NFA exams
• Strong client focus; personable and engagingbuilding relationships and networks wherever possible
• Communicating effectively with clients andcolleagues
• Tenacious and thrives in a pressurisedenvironment
• Team orientated; works well with others anddiverse groups / personalities
• Excellent attention to detail; strong analyticaland numeracy skills
