As a Chef at Mulligans, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality dishes that complement our exciting, competitive social setting. You will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, ensuring our guests enjoy a premium culinary experience while maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Quality Control: Monitor the quality of food preparation and presentation to ensure every dish meets the restaurant's high standards and maintains consistency in taste and presentation in all meals.
* Kitchen Management: Assist with managing kitchen staff, ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations, and train and mentor junior team members.
* Inventory & Stock Control: Help manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimize food waste, ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked with necessary ingredients while maintaining cost-efficiency.
* Health & Safety: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment and follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
* Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests and communicate effectively with other team members, especially during peak times.
* Customer Experience: Ensure a memorable experience for guests by consistently delivering high-quality dishes and maintaining a positive kitchen culture, responding to customer feedback and adapting as needed to enhance their dining experience.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a fast-paced kitchen, preferably within a competitive social and hospitality setting.
* Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
* Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
* A passion for food and creating unique dining experiences.
* Ability to adapt and innovate in response to customer needs and trends.
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
* Desirable: Culinary qualifications (e.g., Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent).
* Experience in managing kitchen staff and inventory.
* Knowledge of current food trends and customer preferences.
