My client, a small but highly capable consultancy, is currently supporting a major UK government body on a large-scale SQL-to-SQL data transformation project. As part of this engagement, they are identifying key data assets across multiple legacy systems and preparing for migration to a new Azure-based environment.
They are now looking to engage a Technical/Data Architect to support both integration and design efforts across this transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop script-based integration between two legacy systems and a new Azure service.
* Work closely with stakeholders to understand existing data flows and system behaviours.
* Create both high-level and low-level design documentation for the new cloud architecture on Azure.
* Provide architectural guidance on data migration and system interoperability.
Required Experience:
* Proven experience as a Technical or Data Architect, ideally in public sector or large-scale transformation projects.
* Strong knowledge of Azure services, particularly in the context of data and system integration.
* Experience scripting integration between legacy systems and cloud platforms.
* Ability to produce clear, robust architectural documentation.
* Location: Primarily remote; occasional on-site meetings may be required (1-2 times during the contract)
