Maintenance Mechanic
Overview:
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining exterior landscaping and maintaining exterior building and general DC maintenance. If you have prior experience and training in a maintenance role, and or landscaping, we encourage you to apply for this position today.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
* Fill in for coverage on building maintenance projects for vacation coverage and other maintenance duties as assigned
* Performing dock door preventive maintenance and other preventive maintenance as required.
* Exterior Building Maintenance: Mowing, edging, trimming, basic garden bed care.
* Enhanced Grounds Maintenance: Pressure washing, Cleaning of curbs, posts and corners, systemic yard cleanup and debris removal beyond basic mowing, tree management (proactive trimming, removal as required).
* Removal of vines or other shrubs that form on exterior walls or that grow near building, clearing of overgrowth and bushes.
* Evaporative cooler cleaning for PMs (on Roof)
* Ensure that all equipment is maintained to guidelines/standards.
* Maintain a safe work attitude by continuously evaluating workplace risks.
* Convey thoughts and recommendations orally and/or in writing in order to solve building-related problems.
* Assist with maintenance and operation programs/schedules for all equipment.
* Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
* Experience, trades or any certification in maintenance or landscaping.
* Experience/certification in operating pressure washers, landscaping equipment
* Ability to work safely in a safety sensitive environment
* Able to work with hands and be mobile for majority of shift.
* Must be able to work in varying facility conditions (warehouse has various temperatures)
* Must be able to handle multiple projects and changing priorities.
* Strong customer service orientation
* Stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pump, tools, ladders) and ability to safely install rigging/lifting device, operate equipment.
* Lift and carry objects of up to 50 pounds
* Ability to remain mobile throughout shift in a large facility.
