The Deputy Head of Patient Safety and Risk is responsible for project managing multiple workstreams within the patient safety portfolio. They work collaboratively with other programme managers and Governance teams to deliver various service improvement projects.
Led by the Head of Patient Safety and Risk, the Deputy acts as an effective ambassador for the trust, demonstrating credibility, knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills to engage with clinical, managerial, and support staff at all levels across the organization. The post requires expertise in programme and project management, improvement methodologies, and a proactive 'can-do' attitude. The candidate should be highly motivated, confident in managing challenging and changing workloads, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
The Deputy is responsible for the day-to-day management of Patient Safety Events and oversees all trust safety events. They lead a team ensuring clinical and non-clinical staff have appropriate access and training. The role requires a solid working knowledge of risk and safety management, providing advice and support on clinical risk issues.
The postholder will collaborate closely with the quality governance, operational, and corporate management teams, as well as staff at all levels within the organization.
