This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical or engineering background who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced environment. You will be joining one of the UK’s leading fluid power specialists, working with high-quality hydraulic hose assemblies, fittings, and engineering products while receiving ongoing support and training. We are the UK’s largest distributor of Danfoss Power Solutions products, offering full system engineering support, in-house power unit manufacturing, and electronic control systems design for turnkey projects. The Role As a Hose Operative, you will support the preparation, assembly, testing, and dispatch of hydraulic hose assemblies to customer specifications. You will also assist with stock control, trade counter support, and occasional van deliveries when required. This role would suit someone who is practical, organised, and eager to learn new skills. Key Responsibilities Prepare hoses and fittings to customer requirements Assemble and test hose assemblies to specification Follow manufacturing procedures and quality standards Maintain clean, safe, and organised working areas Use safety equipment correctly and follow all Health & Safety procedures Support stock orders and despatch activities Report faults, damages, or failures to management Work independently and as part of a small team Serve customers at the trade counter when required Use the company ERP system for order processing and customer support Carry out occasional van deliveries when needed Attend training courses and development sessions as required Skills & Experience Required Experience within a mechanical, manufacturing, or engineering environment preferred Good mechanical knowledge and practical skills Basic IT skills Full UK driving licence Ability to work in a physically active role What We’re Looking For Positive, reliable, and hardworking attitude Willingness to learn and develop new skills Ability to use initiative and work independently Strong communication and teamwork skills Flexible approach and ability to adapt to changing priorities Good organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work to deadlines in a busy environment Punctual and dependable Training & Development Full training will be provided where appropriate, including training on machinery and testing equipment.
