Overview
The role of Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor is to assist in administration and management of costs and contracts relating to projects. The role may involve all aspects of work from the initial tender to final account and close out, seeking to minimise costs and enhance value for money whilst achieving required standards and quality. This role will work under the close direction and supervision of a more senior quantity surveyor.
Responsibilities
* Subcontract management including procurement, auditing of defined cost, payments, change management, earned value reporting, forecasting, performance monitoring, monthly meetings, final accounts, etc.
* Assist with procurement of subcontractors in a timely manner to meet service delivery requirements
* Ensure timescales for contract administration, commitments, actions and deliverables are met
* Production of estimates for the main contract
* Monitor and control costs and ensure correct capture of costs within cost capture systems
* Prepare “Damage to Network Property” cost claims and query management
* Provide general assistance to the commercial and operational teams as required
