Imaging Department Assistant – Band 2
Location: Community Diagnostic Centre, Hanley (S‑O‑T), University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full time, shifts 7am‑10pm, 7‑day service)
Salary: £25,272 per annum (pro rata)
Job Overview
We are launching a new Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) and require enthusiastic, patient‑centred Imaging Department Assistants to support our radiography staff across five locations in North Staffordshire.
Responsibilities
* Data entry and front‑desk duties
* Direct patient care and support for Diagnostic Radiographers
* Managing clinical stock and ensuring department cleanliness and organisation
* Co‑ordinating patient flow across rotational sites
* Maintaining radiation information systems
* Participating in 24/7 roster as required
Qualifications
* Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent vocational course) including English and Maths grade C/4 or above
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Care (preferred)
* Evidenced personal development
Experience
* Experience in a patient/client‑facing caring environment
* Experience working in an NHS clinical setting
* Experience in an imaging department preferred
* Computer literacy, familiar with Microsoft Office, accurate data entry skills
* Organisational and prioritisation abilities
* Knowledge of radiation information systems
Other Requirements
* Previous experience in an X‑ray department
* Driving licence (if required for travel between sites)
