These exciting posts provide a 12-month intensive out of programme (OOP) experience for ST3+ level doctors to develop and practice service improvement and clinical leadership through the delivery of and support to local and national GIRFT improvement initiatives, aimed at reducing variation and an opportunity to publish related research and abstracts as part of the programme.

Postholders will have regular access to senior clinicians, including Professor Tim Briggs, the National Director of Clinical Improvement and will form part of a cohort of GIRFT Fellows. There will be collaboration with other national fellowship programmes, e.g. the National Medical Director's Clinical Fellows Scheme and the Chief Sustainability Officer's Clinical Fellows Scheme.

Main duties of the job

The duties will be split between GIRFT work and clinical obligations which will vary according to the Trust. Please see additional information in the Job Description.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Training

Essential

* Medical Degree
* To have achieved minimum competencies expected of ST3 or equivalent in desired specialty
* GMC License to Practice

* MRCPCH or equivalent
* 12 months experience in desired specialty
