Salary £75,000 - £85,000, depending upon experience.

The Group Cyber Data Assurance Engineer reports to the Group Head of Cyber Data Assurance. The role holder oversees the design, development, and operation of Group data repositories, and maintains database performance and privacy. Keeps senior technical management informed by preparing reports.
The role holder will proactively collaborate with other Group CISO colleagues and Market Unit CISO counterparts to share knowledge, ideas, innovation and areas for improvement. To do that effectively, they will enjoy staying abreast of emerging cybersecurity data industry thought leadership.
How you’ll help us make health happen
1. Supporting the business requirements and priorities as set by the Group Head of Cyber Data Assurance to ensure all Group Cyber Data Assurance priorities, requests and reporting are effectively delivered
2. Support the Group Head of Cyber Data Assurance in the management and delivery of security-related activities, exploring opportunities to collaborate and support activities globally to assist delivery and where possible achieve standardisation and economies of scale.
3. Contribute to the design, implementation and ongoing operations of data management and data analysis processes to enable the secure sharing and processing of security data across the Group.
4. Oversee data collection mechanisms and how they fit into data architecture, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality and accuracy.
5. Drive a culture of continuous improvement that constantly seeks to improve autonomy, increase visibility and understanding of vulnerabilities, weaknesses and exposures, efficiency and effectiveness from a Group perspective.
6. Support the implementation of required security measures such as firewalls or message encryption, monitoring performance to notify security experts of any problems.
7. Deliver digital solution architecture services as assigned, preparing conceptual and logical architecture diagrams to align technical direction and document future state architectures.
8. Discuss and recommend technical developments to improve quality of the website/portal/applications software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.
9. Document "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.
10. Contribute to approval process for database specifications to ensure all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved.
11. Install and test complex databases and associated products to ensure they are suitable for use and meet customer requirements.
12. Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance.
13. Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
14. Significant and demonstratable experience of overseeing the design, development, and ongoing management of data repositories within a global, federated business
15. Proven experience in developing data lakes and platforms for technology teams within project environments
16. Exposure to data management frameworks such as EDM Council’s DCAM or CDMC or DAMA DMBOK
17. Experience in deploying PaaS solutions, API’s, and Infrastructure as Code with knowledge of Azure and GCP
18. Excellent Scripting Skills (PowerShell, Shell and Python)
19. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex technical issues and recommend effective solutions. Experience of cybersecurity tooling and/or development of cybersecurity related data analysis solutions is preferable but not essential
20. Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, recognising the need for transparency and a tactical/strategic approach in order to achieve goals
21. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts/findings to non-technical stakeholders and senior management
22. Takes decisive action in time critical situations; operates effectively and at pace under pressure and in times of uncertainty and ambiguity
23. Self-motivated and proactive in approach, manages and prioritises time effectively
