Position
Community Staff Nurse – District Nursing Team – Biggart Hospital Prestwick
Hours
37 hours over 5 days with weekend commitment offered on a permanent basis. Job share will be considered for this post. From 1 April 2026, full‑time hours will reduce to 36 hours pro‑rata for part‑time staff without loss of earnings.
UK Driving Licence
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What you will do
Applications are sought from registered nurses who are confident in their ability to work autonomously and as part of the wider primary care team. Excellent communication and observational skills are essential. Previous community nursing experience is advantageous; registered nurses wishing to develop their skills in community nursing will also be considered. The Community Nursing Team is responsible for assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of care for individuals and families in the area. The post holder will be primarily based in Prestwick.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required
* Highly motivated Registered Nurse with a passion for clinical care and a strong team‑work ethic.
* Ability to work independently with up‑to‑date clinical skills, including all forms of catheterisation, palliative care, wound care and promotion of continence. Training will be provided.
* Interest in mentoring and teaching pre‑register students.
