In this pivotal leadership role, you’ll drive the transformation of internal operations, lead a high-performing support team, and contribute directly to the firm’s strategic growth and service excellence.
The Opportunity
You’ll report directly to the Operations Director and take responsibility for the overall effectiveness of the administration and Technical Adviser Support teams. This includes leading on team structure, workflow optimisation, recruitment, training, and performance management - ensuring all operations align with business objectives, regulatory standards, and client expectations.
This role offers the perfect blend of strategic thinking and hands-on leadership for someone who thrives on improving systems, developing people, and delivering tangible operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
* Redesign the structure of the administration function and define clear career progression, salary bandings, and hybrid working practices.
* Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and development planning for support staff.
* Oversee day-to-day workflows and task allocation based on team capacity and skill sets.
* Monitor KPIs and ensure compliance with internal service standards and regulatory obligations.
* Collaborate with advisers to ensure administrative support enhances their efficiency and client outcomes.
* Partner with the Process Improvement Manager to streamline systems and implement technology solutions that increase operational efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in operations or team management, ideally within financial planning or another financial services environment.
* Strong understanding of performance metrics, workflow management, and continuous process improvement.
* Confident leadership skills, with a track record of motivating and developing high-performing teams.
* Experience designing and delivering training, appraisal, and incentive schemes.
* Proficient in identifying and applying technology solutions to drive operational effectiveness.
