Long Term Futures are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary SEN school in Barnet, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a structured and supportive specialist setting, helping pupils develop communication, independence and engagement with learning. The role involves providing both 1:1 and small-group support for children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD
Support students with communication, emotional regulation and engagement
Assist with learning activities across the primary curriculum
Implement strategies linked to EHCPs and individual support plans
Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and therapists
Promote independence, confidence and inclusion
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience supporting children with SEN or ASD
A patient, nurturing and proactive approach
Confidence working in a primary SEN or specialist school environment
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
Background in SEN, care, youth work or education (desirable)
