Housing officer
£25,000 - £40,000 a year
Posted: 21 September
Offer description

Full Time, Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity for a housing officer to join the Tenancy Management team at Bristol City Council.

You will be managing a patch in Bristol supporting residents to maintain their tenancies, effectively dealing with cases of antisocial behaviour and breaches of tenancy and helping to ensure estates are places where tenants feel proud to live.

This is a full time position that will suit someone with experience of housing or public sector services and an understanding of issues affecting social housing tenants. It would particularly suit someone who is ambitious and looking to develop their career in social housing, working in a challenging and rewarding role.

You should have good inter-personal skills and be able to work with a broad range of people to ensure tenants are supported to successfully maintain a tenancy. You will collaborate with partner agencies, support services and the police and demonstrate experience of equalities and diversity issues.

The Housing Officer role is rewarding, varied and complex; no two days will be the same. You could be attending a case conference in the morning to discuss serious criminal activity to visiting vulnerable tenants with support workers in the afternoon. You are dealing with different customers and their specific support needs each day.
