Overview
North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated IT Service Desk Assistant to join our team based in Carlisle. This role supports the IT Service Desk and assists colleagues and staff with the deployment of a new software system. The IT Service Desk operates Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00 with a rota system to ensure coverage during these hours. Please note that occasional work outside core hours may be required to support the deployment of the new EPR software, depending on service needs.
Responsibilities
* Be the first point of contact for staff with IT-related issues and questions; provide advice and basic 1st line remote technical support.
* Follow triage guidelines to capture necessary information to facilitate resolution or escalation of incidents and service requests.
* Resolve the maximum number of incidents at first contact within agreed timescales.
* Carry out various administrative functions undertaken by the IT Service Desk team.
Qualifications and skills
* Well organised with an analytical approach to problem solving and excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
* Customer service experience is essential; enthusiasm for IT-related work.
* Desire to learn and the ability to maintain high performance in a potentially high-pressure environment.
* Desirable: knowledge of ITIL, Microsoft Windows, Office and Active Directory; appropriate training will be provided.
* Flexible and methodical in approach; capable of working as part of a team to provide efficient and effective service.
