Role Overview
Aseptic Services Manager to join the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Aseptic Services Team. Dedicated to clinical trials and part of the wider Pharmacy Clinical Trials Team. Opportunity to use knowledge and experience of working in aseptics in the UK and deliver a range of aseptically dispensed clinical trial medicines.

Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the day‑to‑day service provided by CTAS, ensuring aseptic preparation of medicines is run in accordance with current guidance and best practice, as outlined in the Quality Assurance of Aseptic Preparation Services Handbook.
* Participate in identifying and implementing initiatives to reduce the financial costs and environmental impact of the CTAS service.
* Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of national legislation and recommendations from the Department of Health, MHRA, NHS England, the General Pharmaceutical Council and Royal Pharmaceutical Society relating to aseptic preparation and Good Manufacturing Practice.
* Ensure the preventative maintenance and environmental monitoring programme is undertaken as per SOPs, paperwork is received and reviewed and deviations are managed to ensure compliance with the standards.
* Be responsible for the ongoing recruitment of staff, induction and management and collaborate with the training team to ensure an effective and competent workforce.
* Maintain accurate financial records, including invoicing, checking of invoices and authorisation of invoices for payment.
* Process Drug Alerts received from the MHRA and take required actions within the required time frame.
* Collaborate with the Accountable Pharmacist and Deputy to review the impact of changes to quality assurance standards and implement changes where required.
* Facilitate NHS QA inspections, sponsor audits and support regulatory communication to resolve findings.
* Ensure the CTAS and its staff operate to standards of excellence in customer care with a strong patient focus.
Qualifications
Good working knowledge of the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulation, Human Medicines (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 and ICH GCP, and experience in managing a clinical trial aseptic service and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice are essential.
