We are a growing, quality-driven business seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to take full ownership of our Food Safety and Quality Management System. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will lead all aspects of food safety and quality across manufacturing, working closely with production and technical teams to ensure products consistently meet the highest standards. This is a pivotal, high-accountability role suited to someone detail-focused, proactive, and committed to excellence, with a strong focus on supporting innovation and business growth.
You will be responsible and accountable for -
· HACCP - Part of the HACCP team, ensuring daily implementation of CCP, documentation and review
· GMP – Ensuring the high Good Manufacturing Process standard is held, documented and enforced
· SALSA – Expert in the SALSA standard, annual documentation and audit review, lead host to auditors
· NPD – New product development and launch team, ensuring delivery, lead NPD shelf life tasting
· Internal auditor
· Assist the Production team with all implementation of all process amendments
· Product quality, ensuring every batch meets the quality contract requirements
· Training, organise and lead all relevant training sessions, creating SOPs for all core activities
· Gather all necessary supplier raw material documentation, specifications
· Updating the supplier approval list
· Supplier, co packer and distributor assurance, site visits when called upon to ensure quality
· Prepare and maintain the internal product specifications system
· Review analytical and sensory data to maintain consistent quality and support production teams
· Lead investigations into non-conformances and complaints, implementing corrective actions
· Manage shelf-life testing, probe calibration, and critical food safety equipment maintenance
· Lead in preparation for and during customer visits and third-party audits, lead host
· Audit compliance across production and operations in line with the Quality Management System
· Prepare and maintain reports, ensuring accuracy and timely completion for customers
· Completion of all third party documentation requests
· Own and deliver on key performance indicators set by senior management on quality parameters
· Implement continuous improvement to quality systems and process
· Purchasing autonomy to budget
· Senior operational cover – providing upwards support when sickness, holiday or absenteeism
· Collaboration with the technical team to support requests when needed
· Promote a positive culture of food safety ensuring all team members follow protocol
· An available expert to the wider business on product and quality
· A quality mentor in the Operations team, ensuring a collaborative culture
About You:
* Strong knowledge of food safety and quality standards, including HACCP, GMP, and SALSA
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and documentation standards
* Confident leading audits, managing compliance, and working with external auditors
* Passionate about food safety, quality, and maintaining high standards across all processes
