Where you’ll work:
Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub-based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to attend OVO Connection events in-person.
You’ll be assigned to the closest of our three hub offices: Bristol, Glasgow, or London; unless your role requires field-based work. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop and is designed to inspire collaboration and big ideas.

Teamworking for the planet
Our work revolves around Plan Zero. You’ll join the Energy Markets and Optimisation (EMO) function within the Future Energy team, focusing on providing insights into energy costs and revenues.
This role in a nutshell:
You’ll forecast energy costs and revenues, collaborate with teams, and engage with industry stakeholders on topics like the retail price cap.
Your key outcomes will be:
* Monitor industry changes affecting costs and price caps, and develop strategies with the Policy and Regulation team.
* Build relationships with regulators, market operators, and industry experts to stay informed of upcoming changes.
* Represent OVO at industry events and meetings to support our mission.
* Develop relationships within OVO to share information and identify risks and opportunities.
* Contribute to automated systems for forecasting and data sharing.
* Develop accurate forecast models using analytical and statistical methods.
You’ll be successful if you have / are…
* An analytical degree (Maths, Physics, Engineering, etc.).
* 2+ years of experience in an analytical role within energy.
* Commercial awareness and ability to communicate at senior levels.
* Comfortable working with ambiguity.
* Quick learner with attention to detail.
* Self-starter, able to work independently and in teams.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience or willingness to learn tools like BigQuery, Tableau/Looker, Python, Github, Airflow.
* Experience in cost or price cap forecasting.
* Proficiency in SQL and statistical Python libraries.
