Overview

Location: Tumi Bicester Village Store, Unit 76, Village, Pingle Dr, Bicester OX26 6WD. Availability: September/October 2025.

Job purpose: As part of our Retail Team, the Sales Associate is responsible for creating a client experience that accurately reflects the ethos of our brand while building and maintaining strong client relationships and driving sales through outstanding service. The ideal candidate is committed to client service, demonstrating a strong understanding of, if not passion for luxury, travel, fashion, and lifestyle markets. The TUMI retail environment encourages entrepreneurial spirit, offering growth opportunities as performance increases sales, KPIs, build client awareness, provide world-class service, and grow the brand.

Position: Sales Associate (12 hours per week)


Responsibilities

* In an exclusive atmosphere, introduce our customers to the large collection of the TUMI world and provide expert advice.
* Deliver excellent customer service combined with sales skills and empathy for the traveling customer to drive success.
* Conscientiously handle operation and billing of the cash register.
* Ensure high-quality product presentation is inviting and aligned with guidelines.
* Support internal events and promotions.
* Offer advice on, and demonstration of TUMI products to ensure a friendly shopping experience.
* Maximize sales through product knowledge and add-on sales; be knowledgeable about store layout, products, and stock availability.
* Deal with customers in a cheerful, polite, and efficient manner, considering their needs.
* Handle customer complaints and phone queries in line with Company Policy.
* Process transactions efficiently and professionally, adhering to Company Procedures.
* Be aware of TUMI after sales service, warranties, and areas covered.
* Maintain awareness of sales promotions, incentives, and product brochures.


Requirements

* Initial professional experience in retail is desirable, preferably in the premium sector.
* Passion for selling premium products.
* Good understanding of English; additional languages are an advantage.
* Enthusiasm for our products; pleasant and open sales personality.
* Well-groomed and professional appearance.
* Good Microsoft Office knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Constant standing, bending, and frequent lifting of luggage up to 15 kilos.
* Ability to work under pressure; team player and motivator; target driven; brand sensibility; flexibility.


Principal Accountabilities

* Customer Service/Sales: Offer advice on, and demonstration of, TUMI products to ensure a friendly shopping experience; introduce selling benefits and features; maximize sales through detailed knowledge and add-on sales; be knowledgeable about store layout, products, and stock; handle customer inquiries and complaints politely; process transactions; be aware of after-sales service and warranties; stay aware of promotions and product literature; be aware of sales figures, targets, and bonuses.
* Stock/Merchandising: Process deliveries and discrepancies; maintain organized stockrooms; be knowledgeable about products and selling benefits; assist in merchandising layouts and displays; act on relevant Head Office communications; assist in stock counts as directed.
* Security: Act on security issues where possible and report to Management; remain vigilant with stock and monies and adhere to Company Procedures.
* House Keeping: Maintain high standards in-store and ensure daily cleaning and care of fixtures, fittings, and stock.
* Operations / Administrative Duties: Handle telephone inquiries professionally; communicate customer inquiries/orders to Head Office; carry out stock and personnel administration as directed by Management.
* Attendance: Report to work 10 minutes before shift; contact the store if absent or late; attend training as directed by Store Manager; adhere to attendance policy.
* Appearance: Maintain a well-groomed, neat appearance in line with Company Dress Policy.
* Health & Safety: Report accidents or hazards; be knowledgeable of Health & Safety Manual and fire safety procedures of the managing agent within store.
* Additional Responsibilities: Perform duties of a similar nature as required by Management.
