Overview
A Personal Assistant is required to support a person with a physical impairment (power wheelchair user) with all aspects of health needs and daily living. You would be assisting a young disabled male, who is an academic at a university, and who lives with his partner and dog.
Responsibilities
* Health-related tasks and personal care, use of hoists and medical devices.
* Cooking and assistance with eating, general errands, and household tasks.
* Support with the pet dog.
* Travel (driving) and assisting the individual to carry out their work, including occasional long-distance commutes to work.
Requirements
* Full, clean driving license
* Basic administration skills
* Basic cooking skills
* Flexible with shift patterns
Training and Employment Details
* You do not need to have prior experience of working in a healthcare/personal care setting; full training will be provided.
* 12 hour shifts, up to 24 hours per week available (based on 2 shifts per week).
* Full training provided, DBS cost covered by employer, and pension scheme available.
* Employed directly by the individual requiring assistance.
