Job Title: Legal Counsel – UK (Northern & Central Europe Region)

Reports to: Regional Lead Counsel, Northern & Central Europe
Overview
An international organisation operating across multiple European markets is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its regional legal team. The role combines responsibility for supporting UK business operations with broader involvement in compliance and data protection matters across the Northern & Central Europe (NCE) region.
This is an ideal position for a commercially minded legal generalist who enjoys variety and autonomy, and who is motivated by the opportunity to influence both local and regional decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clear, practical legal advice to business stakeholders in the UK on a broad range of commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters.
* Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including supplier, customer, and partnership agreements.
* Support the implementation and oversight of compliance and data protection (GDPR) frameworks across the NCE region.
* Advise on day-to-day legal questions relating to employment, marketing, and consumer law.
* Manage external counsel where specialist input is required.
* Collaborate with internal teams across Europe to ensure consistent risk management and legal standards.
* Contribute to the development of internal policies, templates, and training materials.
Candidate Profile
* Qualified solicitor in the UK with 5–10 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) gained either in-house or within a reputable law firm.
* Broad legal background with the ability to quickly get up to speed on new areas of law.
* Strong understanding of commercial contracts, corporate governance, and data protection (GDPR).
* Proven ability to provide pragmatic, business-focused advice.
* Excellent communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders across different jurisdictions.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently in a fast-moving international environment.
* Additional European language skills (particularly German or Polish) are an advantage but not essential.
