We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Officers to join our partner secondary academies across Leicester & Leicestershire. These roles are ideal for individuals with a background in youth work, education, social care, or mental health support who are looking to step into or continue a career in pastoral care within education. Key Responsibilities: Provide daily emotional, behavioural and social support to students. Work closely with Heads of Year, SENCOs, safeguarding leads and teaching staff. Support students with attendance, punctuality, and engagement in learning. Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner. Build trusted relationships with students, parents/carers and external agencies. Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture focused on wellbeing and success. We're looking for candidates who: Have experience working with young people in a pastoral, mentoring, or support capacity. Understand safeguarding procedures and the importance of confidentiality. Possess excellent communication, empathy, and resilience. Can handle sensitive situations with care, professionalism and discretion. Are proactive, organised, and committed to making a difference. Desirable but not essential: Experience in a school or academy setting Knowledge of safeguarding frameworks and SEND Relevant qualifications in youth work, counselling, or mental health Why apply?
