We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager for our Early Years centre. The successful candidate will support the overall management of the nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged from infancy to preschool age. This role involves leading a team of childcare professionals, maintaining high standards of early childhood education, and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and staff. The Deputy Manager will play a vital role in implementing policies, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Assist the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the childcare centre, including planning activities and programmes that promote children's development Support and supervise staff to ensure high-quality care and education are delivered in accordance with organisational policies and early years frameworks Lead by example in providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and wellbeing Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and regulatory requirements Support recruitment, training, and performance management of staff members Organise staff rotas to ensure adequate cover during operational hours Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve service delivery Assist in managing resources efficiently, including equipment, toys, and learning materials Support the implementation of early childhood education programmes aligned with best practices Skills Proven experience in childcare or nursery settings with strong knowledge of early childhood development Management or leadership experience within a childcare environment Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also demonstrating leadership qualities Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently Compassionate approach when working with children, demonstrating patience and understanding Good understanding of safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending external meetings or training sessions This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to children's early years education while developing your leadership skills within a supportive team environment.
