We are working with a secondary school for young people aged 11-19 based in Coulson. Students attending have a range of needs from Autistic Spectrum Condition and ADHD, with Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Job Description
* Have a strategic overview of provision for pupils with SEN, monitoring and reviewing the quality of provision
* Report termly on SEND provision to SLT and issue reports
* Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
* Deliver training and advice to staff regarding SEN strategies and regulations.
* Carry out assessments to identify pupils' needs and ensure appropriate support is provided.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of pupils' progress.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) should have:
* A recognised SENCO qualification.
* Experience working with children with special educational needs.
* Excellent understanding of the SEN framework and regulations.
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to work well within a team.
* Exceptional communication skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
