Overview
We are seeking a Battery Project Engineer to join our Electrification and Battery Testing team.
Responsibilities
* Be the main contact between a specific customer and the HORIBA MIRA team, arranging and approving a range of abuse and development tests on customer battery systems from cell level to full pack, including battery tear down (disassembly).
* Plan workloads, ensuring resources, equipment and tools are available when required.
* Manage all documentation relating to testing and collect data to report to the customer, informing design improvements and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Background or interest in electronics, electrical, motor vehicle and prototype build; passion for advancing electric vehicle technology.
* A full UK drivers licence is required for this role. Baseline security clearance will be required.
* Willingness to work outdoors in all weather; appropriate PPE and clothing provided.
* Contract details: Up to 18 months, Inside IR35, up to £27 per hour (approx. £45,258 per annum) including holiday pay.
* Hours: 37.25 per week, standard hours 08:30–16:30 Mon–Thu and 08:30–16:00 Fri with a 30-minute lunch; hours can be flexed (to be discussed at interview). Occasional overtime/shift work may be required.
* Anticipated start dates: 29 September or 6 October 2025. Future start dates can be discussed.
Assessment Centre & Interview Process
Interview process will involve a short 10-minute MS Teams interview to explore your CV and experience. If successful at the MS Teams stage you will be invited to complete psychometrics tests. If shortlisted you will be invited to meet with us on site for a competency-based interview, which will include a work sample test to assess technical capabilities. MS Teams interviews are from 8 September; onsite interviews w/c 22 September (HORIBA MIRA, Watling St, Nuneaton, CV10 0TU).
