Community Physiotherapist – Furness

We are looking for a Physiotherapist to join the South Cumbria Community Therapy Team, based in Barrow in Furness
The service works closely with the Integrated Care Communities, local GP's, Adult Social Care, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and hospital discharge teams. The service supports people with a wide variety of conditions including elderly care, frailty and falls, orthopaedics and long-term condition management.
Main duties of the job
Working together to deliver care to patients you will need to:
* work as an individual within the community therapy team undertaking specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with frequently complex problems in their own homes, residential and nursing care homes and residential rehabilitation unit.
* have completed a range of core rotations within the NHS as a physiotherapist with a desire to develop your clinical skills further
* demonstrateandevidence your own professional development
* demonstrate your ability to work independently when necessary
* have a friendly and flexible attitude, which is patient focused and dedicated to quality care
* use your expertise to superviseand teachphysiotherapystudents andother staff within the service
Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
* Health and Care Professions Council registered Physiotherapist
* Honours Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy approved by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy/Health and Care Professions Council
* Evidence of relevant post graduate specialist clinical education
* Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
Experience
* Comprehensive rotational experience as a Staff grade in the core competencies within physiotherapy - elderly care, musculosketetal, neurology, orthopaedics and cardio-respiratory care
* Experience of working in the UK NHS
* Experience of effective working within a team
* Be able to demonstrate awareness of elderly rehabilitation
* Previous experience of working in the community setting
Skills, Ability & Knowledge
* Evidence of effective written communication skills in English in a variety of settings
* Evidence of commitment, motivation and adaptability
* Understanding of legal responsibilities within the profession
* Good communication skills and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to liaise effectively within the multi-disciplinary team
* Ability to motivate patients and other staff
* Basic IT skills
* To have a knowledge of audit tools and awareness of organizational and clinical standards in Physiotherapy
* Demonstrate good time management skills
* Be able to travel around the North Lancashire area as part of work duties independent of public transport.
* Ability to think quickly, assess clinical situations and make decisions based upon that information
* Must demonstrate a knowledge of team / group dynamics and understand the role of a Specialist Physiotherapist within the team
* Must be able to demonstrate the confidence to take independent action within expected capabilities
