Beckfoot Thornton is seeking a committed and caring Behaviour Support Worker to join the team from Febuary 2026 on a long-term or short-term supply basis, with the potential to become permanent.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Behaviour Support Worker who has experience supporting the wellbeing, behaviour, and learning of pupils-particularly vulnerable learners-within a welcoming and inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils wellbeing, behaviour, and attitude to learning
* Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in collaboration with colleagues and external professionals
* Build positive relationships with families and encourage engagement with school life
* Promote inclusion, independence, and positive values in pupils
* Track and monitor behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding concerns.
* Make welfare calls and support strategies to improve attendance and punctuality.
* Assist with lesson planning, pastoral care, and behaviour management.
* Organise and support extracurricular and enrichment activities.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to the wider school environment.
What Were Looking For:
* Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education
* Experience working with children with SEMH and/or SEN
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
* Excellent communication skills and a supportive, proactive approach
* A team player with resilience, empathy, and a passion for helping young people thrive
