Role Overview
We are recruiting for an Export Customer Solutions Supervisor. The Exports team processes customers and partners’ road freight out of the UK via our partners, and to our customers within Europe. We pride ourselves in providing and delivering professional, helpful, high‑quality service and assistance before, during, and after the customer’s requirements are met. The Exports team completes all activity in the end‑to‑end process, from collection request through to final delivery, POD, cost allocation, and charging.
One of the key responsibilities of the Export Supervisor is to provide their team with the required tools and support to complete their tasks to the best of their ability. It is also essential that the Supervisor can review KPIs and metrics to determine the course of action within their team to improve not only the result but also the service provision. The role requires a strong working relationship with both domestic transport and operations to provide the best all‑round solution for our customers.
Responsibilities
* Leadership of the Exports team in Cannock. Ensuring workloads are allocated effectively and fairly.
* Quality checks on all activity carried out by the team.
* Customer queries and escalations via phone, email, and face‑to‑face.
* Working closely with Customer Services, Imports, Transport, Domestic and Warehouse teams.
* Handling issues, complaints and escalations with partners confidently.
* Improving and finding inefficiencies within the processes.
* Reporting on team activity, service levels, timely execution and margins.
* Project work and KPI creation/monitoring.
* One‑to‑ones, team briefings and appraisals, team development and coaching of the department.
* Managing FTL, LTL and groupage movements.
* Ensuring trailers are utilised to maximum capacity and routes are optimised for cost, efficiency and customs requirements.
* Liaising with clients and ensuring that all information, customs paperwork, delivery paperwork has been received and correctly documented for the shipment.
* Liaising with Rhenus, agents and UK transport departments.
* Dealing with day‑to‑day enquiries including POD requests, general admin, calls and emails.
* Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
* Participate in training sessions to remain updated on compliance protocols and procedures.
* Any other additional tasks in line with the evolving needs of the business.

Skills
* Minimum two years’ experience in export road freight at a leadership level.
* General road export customs knowledge and experience (export documentation, customs procedures, export controls).
* Ability to plan, schedule and coordinate shipments.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
