Job Role: Mech/Steam/HTHW (Steam Engineer)
Location: HMP The Mount- Molyneaux Avenue, Hemel Hempstead HP3 0NZ
Salary: £43,177.30 to £46,775.42 per annum
Contract: Full time/Permanent
We are seeking a dedicated Engineer - Mech/Steam/HTHW to join our team at HMP The Mount, a category C & adult/male prison.
Responsibilities
* As a Engineer - Mech/Steam/HTHW, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners, and Administrators, and others, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all.

Team and Operations
HMP The Mount runs like a self-contained town. The Facilities Maintenance Team is committed to driving the smooth and safe operation, with all activities impacting every prisoner, employee, visitor, and the wider community.
Qualifications
* Two years' experience working in a role as a steam boiler operator or equivalent
* Must be familiar with and able to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
* Must be familiar with and able to work to BG01 - safe operation of boilers
* Experience working on commercial or industrial steam, heating and water systems
* Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
* BOAS accredited boiler operator course or equivalent
* Good Health & Safety knowledge
* Excellent organisational, time management and people skills

GFSL has been notified by its shareholder (MOJ) that the provision of FM services will in future be delivered by the private sector. After a successful procurement, GFSL's services will transfer to a private sector provider/providers no sooner than August 2027.
